In a daring incident last Friday, the streets of Campbell witnessed a series of vehicle burglaries thwarted by alert police detectives. According to the City of Campbell Police Department, at approximately 9:45 am, a detective stumbled upon a chaotic scene on Union Avenue. Three stolen vehicles, with masked occupants attempting to break into parked cars, were discovered.
When additional Campbell Police officers arrived, chaos ensued as the alleged criminals tried to evade capture. One group of perpetrators collided with a VTA railway arm near Civic Center Drive and E. Campbell Ave., resulting in a cascade of consequences and debris.
Following the collision, two individuals hastily fled the wreckage, but the police swiftly apprehended them. Both suspects, minors concealed beneath a juvenile disguise, were arrested and now face various charges, including "resisting arrest and possession of a stolen vehicle, burglary tools, and even a switchblade knife," as detailed in a release by the city's police.
While the Campbell Police Officers incorporate this incident into their vigilant efforts, the investigation continues. They assure the public that they are committed to eradicating all traces of this lawless act.
