The Minnesota Wild stormed the ice with a power-play bonanza, netting a quintet of goals in a high-scoring 6-4 victory over the Florida Panthers. As the Panthers' skid extended to their fourth consecutive loss, the Wild's Kirill Kaprizov spearheaded the effort with two goals, contributing to the team's electric performance on Friday night.
Joining Kaprizov, Ryan Hartman racked up two goals of his own, while Joel Eriksson Ek and Mats Zuccarello also cashed in on the power play. The efforts were supplemented by solid assists, with Brock Faber delivering three and Matt Boldy adding two. Minnesota's goalie Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 10 out of 11 shots before an injury saw him exit the game, leaving Filip Gustavsson to anchor the net with 25 saves, as reported by CBS News Minnesota.

Despite an earlier advantage, the Panthers' defense crumbled, matching a dubious team record with five power-play goals conceded, a feat that hadn't been achieved since 2006. Florida's coach Paul Maurice lamented the performance, telling NBC Miami, "The things that we're really good at, we weren't. It starts with faceoffs and mostly clears, after that, we're just behind it." Sergei Bobrovsky's night between the pipes came to an abrupt end after surrendering four goals on 14 shots; Anthony Stolarz stepped in to make nine saves in relief.
Florida also faced the absence of team captain Aleksander Barkov for the second game in a row, undoubtedly feeling the sting of his lower-body injury on the ice. Conversely, the Wild seemed to find their rhythm with the man advantage, having entered the game with a modest five power-play goals earlier this month. They turned the heat up against the Panthers, finishing an impressive 5 for 6 on the power play.
Looking ahead, the Wild, fresh off their demonstration of special teams dominance, will skate against Carolina on Sunday. The Panthers, aiming to find their footing and halt their losing streak, are scheduled to face off against Nashville on Monday night.
