A terrifying ordeal unfolded on the streets of Victorville when a woman discovered a transient man inside her vehicle, leading to a violent confrontation and the eventual arrest of the suspect. The incident took place near the Guadalajara Meat Market on A Street and Seventh Street, thrusting an unsuspecting shopper into a dangerous situation on Saturday afternoon.
The initial tranquility of a routine shopping trip was shattered when the victim, hearing her dogs bark, stepped outside to find a man seated in her car. Authorities report her screams for the intruder to exit were met with violence as Dwight Brown, a 26-year-old transient of Victorville, allegedly began to attack her, striking her multiple times in a display of aggression. Ultimately the victim was able to seek assistance from passersby, prompting Brown to flee the scene.
Law enforcement was quick to respond, arriving at the scene around 3:44 p.m. to apprehend the suspect in the vicinity. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, Brown exhibited uncooperative behavior during the arrest but was taken into custody and booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, with charges including P.C. 211- Robbery and P.C. 422(A)- Criminal Threats, as stated in a sheriff's department report.
