Worcester police pounced on an alleged cocaine trafficker yesterday morning following a tip-off linked to a home invasion. Webster officers had been on high alert and had sent out a BOLO for a white Nissan Rogue connected to the incident. The pursuit came to a head when Neighborhood Response Team officers spotted the vehicle outside a Dunkin Donuts on Grafton St. at approximately 9:44 AM, according to a press release from the Worcester Police Department.
Officers detained the driver, Brooklyn's own Sabreena Young, 33, and discovered a large quantity of substances believed to be crack and powder cocaine. During the arrest, cops were able to quickly contain the situation and gather evidence which could to be pivotal in the ongoing home invasion inquiry. Webster PD was promptly notified, as this took the case into a new direction for them to investigate further.
The bust has led to serious charges for the suspect. Young now faces charges of trafficking in a Class B substance, specifically in the 100-199 grams range. The swift roundup serves as a reminder of the vigilance on the part of the local police force in the face of criminal activities that continue to challenge the serenity of Webster town.
The investigation remains active, with Webster PD taking the lead on the related home invasion. Meanwhile, the incident leaves the community to grapple with the ongoing scourge of drug trafficking. As law enforcement continues to follow leads, the arrest of Ms. Young may yet unravel further threads in the web of narcotics distribution that plagues our streets. Details remain scarce, but the vigilance of the NRT officers has undoubtedly taken a significant quantity of illegal drugs off the streets, setting a precedent for future operations to follow.
