
A teenage boy from Pittsburg, aged 16, was fatally shot early Saturday morning in Antioch, police said. According to the Antioch Police Department, officers were called to the scene in the 1700 block of Observation Way around 5:12 a.m. after receiving a report about a gunshot victim, the responders found the victim seated in a car struck by at least one bullet and performed life-saving measures until ConFire personnel and paramedics, took over the gravely injured teen was then rushed to a local hospital where he was declared dead.
The investigation determined that the shooting took place in the 2000 block of Tupelo Way. Local authorities, including the Violence Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigators of Antioch Police's Investigations Bureau, are actively investigating the homicide but have not released any further details at this time, the identity of the young male victim and any possible suspect(s) remain under wraps, and the Antioch PD is keeping a tight lid on the information as the case continues.
