Alaska Airlines has teamed up with Seattle's own Fremont Brewing to tap into a new level of inflight beverage experience. The result is an exclusive India Pale Ale named "Cloud Cruiser," and as of Feb. 20, high-flying passengers can sample the custom brew on their flights or while lounging at Alaska Airlines' airport sanctuaries. This collaboration marks the airline's first venture into co-branded craft beer offerings and promises to bring a taste of the Pacific Northwest to the skies.
In their quest to adequately spoil their patrons, Alaska has chosen to offer the Cloud Cruiser at no cost in first and premium classes, making it seem like you are truly riding the clouds—or at least they want to convincingly hint at that. Should you find yourself in the main cabin, worry not; the IPA is up for purchase there and in select lounges. The airline is banking on this exclusive partnership as a pathway to elevate its guest experience and to keep everybody's palates thoroughly entertained at thirty thousand feet. "More than half of the beer consumption onboard" consists of IPAs, Alaska Airlines' Todd Traynor-Corey said, according to Anchorage Daily News.
The IPA itself resonates with vibrant notes of bright orange, melon, and the tropics, while the can's design aims to visually transport drinkers to the great outdoors of Washington State. The collaboration yielded a can adorned with an Alaska Airlines 737-8 MAX flying over a picturesque scene commonly attributed to the Cascade Mountain range, echoing a national park aesthetic. "It speaks to our roots in the Pacific Northwest," Jonny Mack said, as per KING 5.
This boozy mile-high maneuver represents a convergence of ambitions for both Alaska Airlines and Fremont Brewing. Eager to have you raise a toast every time you fly, they're not limiting themselves to just one pour of innovativeness. Traynor-Corey hinted that other seasonal brews could be soon joining the roster later this year. As a tease into what might be on the beverage horizon, "We want to represent all the amazing beer the West Coast has to offer — and there's a lot of it," Traynor-Corey revealed in a statement obtained by Anchorage Daily News.
Washington has grown to stay fresh in the air with you." Emphasizing the importance of quality, he proclaims, "Fresh Beer Matters!" a statement for the beer's integrity he made known to FOX 13 Seattle. With such dedication to delivering a top-flight beverage experience, the only concern left is whether to book your next flight based on the destination or the onboard drink menu.
