The City of Atlanta is set to offer a warm haven for residents against the grasping cold, opening two warming centers this weekend. According to a recent announcement by the city, one center will cater exclusively to men and the other to women and children, starting from Saturday evening through early Monday morning.

The first of these warming centers, designed as a male-only refuge against the biting frost, will be located at the Central Park Recreation Center on Merritts Ave. NE; while the Selena Butler Recreation Center on Wm Holmes Borders Dr. SE will open its doors to women and children seeking shelter from the cold snap. As the mercury dips, the city has not only provided these centers for warmth but also arranged for transportation from the Gateway Center at 8:00 p.m.

Fulton County is facilitating the commute to these bulwarks against the frostbite with buses scheduled to depart from the Gateway Center halls, and the pick-up times synchronized with the centers' activation. Once the chilling ordeal subsides, return transportation will be available upon deactivation of the services, marking the retreat of this municipal shield against the weather's onslaught.
