
Tragedy struck on a Thursday morning, February 1, in Austin, when Jesse Duer, a pedestrian, was killed after being hit by a pickup truck. The crash occurred at around 7:06 a.m. in the 700 block of W. Howard Lane. Duer was promptly rushed to a local hospital but sadly passed away on February 5th, according to information released by the Austin Police Department via their official statement.
The driver of the pickup truck stayed on the scene and was found to not be impaired, having cooperated with the authorities fully. This incident marks Austin's 5th fatal traffic event of the year, carrying us to a stark total of 5 fatalities.
