Set to kick off bright and early at 8 a.m. and running until 11:30 a.m., the event invites community members of all ages to convene at 750 Hickory Flat Road, just behind Fire Station 43, ready to tackle loose trash and overgrown foliage, the City is urging participants to bring along their own work gloves and if they've got 'em, tools like hedge trimmers and power saws to cut through the tough stuff.
Organizers promise to keep the volunteer army hydrated with plenty of water on hand, but if Mother Nature doesn't play nice, the clean-up may be postponed. With the ever-unpredictable weather, there's a 30 percent chance for showers according to the U.S. National Weather Service, and the final decision will be broadcast by 5 p.m. Friday via the City's Facebook page and their website; if the event gets rained out, April 20 is the backup date.
