In an early morning patrol that turned into a significant bust, Brentwood police apprehended two individuals on drug charges. An officer's routine scrutiny of a suspicious vehicle in front of a shuttered Chase Bank on Lone Tree Way ended with a search uncovering illicit substances. According to the Brentwood Police Department's Facebook page, authorities discovered "32 tin foil bindles containing heroin and several different baggies of blue pills" during the search.
The vehicle's occupants, David Guadarramaorenstien, 24, of Oakley, and Angelina Dickerson, 21, of Palmdale, were identified by the officer. Upon contacting dispatch, it was found that David was on probation for a previous burglary in Alameda County. In a brush with law authorities, the vehicle was searched, leading to the confiscation of the drugs. Marked with "M30," the blue pills are suspected to be oxycodone laced with fentanyl, a potent and often deadly opioid.
David, whose history of prior drug sales arrests was noted, faced charges for possession of drugs with intent to sell along with a probation violation. Alongside, Angelina was arrested for possession of drugs with the intent to sell as well. The Brentwood police reaffirmed their dedication to tackling drug-related offenses to maintain community safety and well-being.
The proliferation of fentanyl-laced drugs has become a serious concern, prompting action from the DEA. In a campaign initiated to combat this growing threat, titled "One Pill Can Kill," the agency sought to warn the public about the dangers of counterfeit medications — specifically targeting the likes of the M30 oxycodone pills found in the couple's possession. The blue pills, often resembling legitimate pharmaceuticals, harbor a deadly risk, as noted by the DEA alert issued in June 2021.
