An Arizona man found himself in hot water last Thursday after police linked him to a stolen vehicle in a heist worthy of a movie plot. Todd Howell, 44 years old from Bullhead City, got nabbed by the deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department around lunchtime after they spotted the stolen car on North K Street and Smokestack Drive.
Howell’s joyride came to a screeching halt on the 1400 block of Needles Hwy, where deputies performed a felony traffic stop. A quick records check confirmed the car was hotter than the Arizona sun and Howell was detained at the scene. According to the details released by the authorities, Howell is now facing charges for violating CVC 10851(A) - which is legalese for Grand Theft Auto, as reported by the SBSD - Colorado River Sheriffs Department.
The suspect's freedom ride turned lockdown saga, with Howell being transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking.
