
On a routine traffic patrol last week, Fremont police officers made a significant arrest in the case of Quazauy Waugh, a 25-year-old Oakland resident. Officers stopped a vehicle near the crossroads of Paseo Padre Parkway and Mowry Avenue and discovered a loaded semi-automatic firearm under the driver's seat.
According to the Fremont Police Department's social media account, the incident transpired on February 9th at around 10:00 A.M. Waugh was found in violation of Penal Code 29800(a)(1), which forbids convicted felons from possessing firearms. The police also confirmed that Waugh had an outstanding warrant out of Burbank for fleeing a pursuing peace officer and grand theft.

Following the discovery, Waugh was taken into custody without incident. The officers' search turned up the semi-automatic weapon equipped with an extended magazine—a clear violation of Waugh's felon status.
