Dallas residents are bracing for a rollercoaster of temperatures this week, starting with a sizzling high near 92 degrees today before a sharp drop by Wednesday. According to the National Weather Service, the South by southwest zephyrs are pushing in gusts as robust as 20 mph, providing a brief respite from the heat.
As night falls, thermometers will take a modest dip, settling around a pleasant 68 degrees, but the winds pick up pace, potentially peaking with gusts up to 30 mph. Tuesday's skies partly sunny attitude will accompany temperatures in the high 80s, though the prevailing south winds, still gusting to around 20 mph, will remind Dallas that nature is ever restless.
The weather narrative takes a turn Tuesday night, with clouds gathering and the temperatures making a dramatic plunge to a chilly low around 45 degrees. This shift owes its thanks to winds now blowing in from the north, reaching speeds of 10 to 20 mph and gusts that could soar up to 30 mph.
Wednesday's forecast predicts an overcast sky, with a significantly cooler high near 54 degrees. The north wind, persistent in its influence, could usher in gusts as ferocious as 35 mph. The evening promises no respite from the chill, as mercury levels are expected to hover, around 41 degrees with gusts reaching 25 mph.
Looking ahead to Thursday, there's a 40 percent chance of showers after the morning hours break. Similar conditions linger into Thursday evening, though chances of rainfall will primarily retreat before nightfall. As the week draws to a close, the sun reasserts itself Friday, pushing temperatures back to a more agreeable high near 71.
The weekend outlook seems to favor outdoor plans with mostly clear skies Friday night and sunny highs soaring to 80 degrees on Saturday. However, as Sunday rolls in, Dallas might be subject to the whims of the clouds once more, with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms and partly sunny conditions topping off at around 80 degrees.
