A DeKalb County neighborhood is grappling with the tragic death of a 3-year-old boy who fatally shot himself after finding an unsecured firearm. As reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, The incident occurred early Saturday morning, and the owner of the gun, Antoine Jordan, has since been arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder and Cruelty to Children in the Second Degree, currently held in DeKalb County Jail.
Police responded to the shooting just before 7 a.m., where they discovered the tragedy involved the young boy shooting himself in the face. One distressed neighbor, having recently lost her own grandchild to gun violence, told FOX 5, "I don't even know the family, but I can feel their pain," and expressed an urgent plea for firearm safety: "I really wish people would put the guns away … it really needs to stop."
