The desperate search for Eminie Hughes, a 12-year-old girl who vanished from her Houston home, has entered into an agonizing second week as police and family members scramble to find any trace of her whereabouts. In a statement obtained by FOX 26 Houston, authorities indicate that Eminie, last seen on the night of February 22 on Waterchase Drive, could be using a social media platform known as Tagged, and may be in the Missouri City area.
Eminie's distraught mother, Shannon Williams, has been left in a state of perpetual fear and anxiety with sleepless nights and a loss of appetite since her daughter's disappearance—she told FOX 26 Houston, "I haven't eaten anything, I haven't been able to sleep, it's a lot." Williams recounted the last evening when Eminie was still within the safety of their home; now those memories are tainted with the persistent question: Where is her child?
The Houston Police Department has stepped up efforts by circulating updated photographs of Eminie and persisting with their investigations into her disappearance, as shared via a post on their official X account. The public is urged to come forward with any relevant information by contacting the HPD Missing Persons Unit.
UPDATE: HPD continues searching for missing 12 year-old Eminie Hughes. She may be on a social media app known as Tagged & is believed to be in the Missouri City area.
