A deadly altercation shattered the peace of a DeKalb County apartment complex, leaving a 25-year-old man dead and another injured. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, gunfire erupted this afternoon at the Belle Vista apartment homes following a dispute between two acquainted men.
The encounter occurred off DeKalb Medical Parkway at Snapfinger Woods Drive. Not long before 2:50 p.m., authorities found the younger man lifeless outside an apartment building. The 47-year-old, having suffered gunshots, subsequently arrived at a hospital, where his recovery was anticipated.
Names have not been disclosed as the investigation continues. While the immediate circumstances leading to the shooting are unclear, charges have yet to be determined in connection to the fatal incident.
Meanwhile, Channel 2's Audrey Washington, who reported from the scene, shared that family members of the deceased were visibly distraught. As per an interview, the DeKalb Police divulged that the two men were embroiled in a confrontation that turned lethal with the pulling of a trigger.
The DeKalb County Police Department's detectives are piecing together what led to the argument and eventual gunfire as part of their active investigation.
