A Fort Worth community grapples with grief after a catastrophic collision between a school bus and a motorcycle claimed the life of 36-year-old Travis Waters and left a group of middle school children unharmed but shaken. According to FOX 4 News, surveillance video captured the harrowing moments leading up to the crash that occurred Tuesday morning along Beach Street.
Travis Waters, remembered fondly by loved ones and dear to the heart of his community, was struck down in the full vigor of life, leaving an indelible void in the lives of his wife, six children, and friends he was reportedly out to fetch breakfast tacos when the fatal incident unfolded. His bike crashed into the school bus from Fort Worth ISD as it was executing a left-hand turn—a scene of sudden violence captured on video, the motorcycle exploding into flames upon impact. Shane Pierson, a close friend of Waters, is left reeling from the loss of his riding partner, telling FOX 4 News, "Empty, empty spot in my days now, I guess." The investigation by Fort Worth Police into the tragic incident remains ongoing; no charges have been filed at this time.
