Frisco's latest road expansion has revved up, with a fresh stretch of Legacy Drive now open, paving a new path for motorists between Panther Creek Parkway and PGA Parkway as per city officials. As of Valentine's Day, drivers can hit the gas on a continuous route through this bustling Texas city, spanning from SH 121 to University Drive (US 380), according to the City of Frisco.
The rubber's also hitting the road at a new traffic light where Legacy Drive intersects with Fields Parkway, a signal that's now seeing its first flashes of green and red. Motorists riding through Panther Creek Parkway should stay alert because the Legacy Drive intersection has come alive with northbound and southbound traffic—and expect the traffic signals, they've had a bit of a timing tweak so you're not waiting forever—or at least it feels that way, and if you're cruising along PGA Parkway, take note at Legacy Drive where cars are now flowing both ways under some fresh signal patterns.
Let's not pump the brakes yet—Fields Parkway isn't being left out of this road race. Today it also welcomed a new section between Legacy Drive and Dallas Parkway, adding more lanes to the grid. For now, Fields Parkway's new lanes are a one-way ticket with access only from the southbound Dallas Parkway frontage road thanks to the ongoing construction of Dallas North Tollway, so no sneaking in from the other side yet.
Drivers, you've been warned to keep your eyes peeled at these intersections; after all, it takes time to adjust to new traffic tango on the streets, so while you're getting acquainted with the new turns, lights, and merges, Frisco officials are urging caution—we're not taking baby steps here, but driving is not a time to throw caution to the wind, as construction traffic is still plowing down west of the Legacy Drive signal where the rest of Fields Parkway is getting ready to make its big debut.
