A family and police in Gwinnett County are enduring a grim wait in the search for a 15-year-old girl who has been missing for nearly a month. Eva Virginia Cambron was last seen on January 26 when she left McClure Health Science High School in the Duluth area and hasn't been spotted since, according to WSB-TV.
The teen's mother, Christina Covarruvias, expressed her deep concerns, indicating that Eva's phone has been unreachable and without any clues to her whereabouts, leaving her frightened for her daughter’s safety. "We don’t have any clue of her whatsoever. Nothing," Covarruvias said in a statement obtained by FOX5 Atlanta. "Up to this point, with not knowing where she’s at, we think she’s in danger."
Gwinnett County Police described Eva as being 5-feet-2-inches tall and weighing about 115 pounds, with long dark hair and brown eyes. She was last seen reportedly running toward Shackleford Road, wearing a gray hoodie, dark-colored pants, and light-colored shoes. The teen's mother has made a poignant appeal to her daughter, "[I want her to] keep in mind she has a home. She has parents, she has family," she said. "We’re waiting for her, we're not even mad."
The case, initially handled by Gwinnett County School Police Department, was taken over by the Gwinnett County Police Department on February 12. With each passing day, the urgency to locate Eva intensifies. Investigators are asking the public for tips on Eva’s whereabouts and encourage anyone with information to call 770.513.5300 or reach out to Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta at 404.577.8477, as reported by FOX5 Atlanta.
