Henry County Police discovered drugs hidden in a popcorn maker during a raid at a local residence. Facts obtained from a FOX 5 Atlanta report disclose that on February 9, law enforcement officers searched a home on Wilson Avenue where they seized around 60 grams of suspected marijuana, nearly 30 grams of alleged crack cocaine, and two firearms. Police have arrested three adults and charged them with violations of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act.
GBI made a major find in DeKalb County when, as WSB-TV reports, they joined forces with DeKalb County police to raid homes on Ward Lake Way and Misty Valley Road. The combined efforts resulted in the seizure of a shocking cache: 135 pounds of marijuana, 405 grams of cocaine, two kilograms of ecstasy, and an arsenal of 45 guns. Vincent Simon, 39, faces a plethora of serious charges, including trafficking of ecstasy and marijuana, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of cocaine.
As officers pulled bags of contraband from the unlikeliest of hiding spots in Henry County, they underlined the resourcefulness of those who traffic illicit substances. The police shared photos on social media, showing an officer with the seized items and what Henry County Police Department believes to be crack cocaine, stashed within the household appliance traditionally associated with light-hearted entertainment.
With Simon currently detained at the DeKalb County Jail, GBI has signaled that this operation is far from over, stating more arrests and charges are forthcoming. Back in Henry County, officials continue to investigate the matter as the case unfolds.
