A man from Holly has been taken into custody for a lewd act in a Planet Fitness parking lot in Troy, Michigan. Witnesses stated they observed Jeremiah Dawayne Wiltfong, 30, self-gratifying in his vehicle while also recording women on the premises.
Per the FOX 2 report, several onlookers reported seeing Wiltfong in action, leading to his apprehension by police on Tuesday, January 30. After leaving the parking lot, Wiltfong was pulled over while driving on John R Road. During the traffic stop, Wiltfong claimed he had "stopped in the parking lot to take a phone call and urinated inside a cup while he was there but did not think anyone saw him," a weak justification for his presence at the location.
Further details obtained by clickondetroit also highlighted that Wiltfong followed witnesses who moved their vehicle to escape his view. Despite his movement around the parking lot, his actions did not go unnoticed. He now faces charges of indecent exposure.
Following the arrest, Capt. Josh Jones with Troy police warned in an interview with FOX 2, "Often times, people that commit this crime have done it multiple other times." The police's decision to seize Wiltfong's phone, and iPad suggest an investigation into potential prior offenses. With his bond set at $7,500, Wiltfong required a ten-percent down payment to secure temporary freedom, according to The Oakland Press.
As the case proceeds, Wiltfong is scheduled for his next court hearing on February 27. Police advise increased vigilance and have heightened security around the Planet Fitness area to reassure the local community shaken by such a disturbing incident. Planet Fitness clients, like Juan Diego, simply could not hide their disgust, relaying their sentiments to FOX 2, "Sick, really sick. I mean come on!"
