In the early hours of February 19, Constable Mark Herman's deputies pulled over a speeding driver who was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated and carrying a loaded firearm illegally. The incident, which took place on the 10000 block of FM 1960 Bypass Rd West, came to light when the deputy clocked the vehicle hurtling down the road at a dangerous 96 mph in a 50mph zone.

Upon being stopped, the man behind a wheel, identified as Christopher Alvarez, was observed displaying signs typical of impairment. According to Constable Mark Herman's Facebook post, Alvarez refused to comply with Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, leading law enforcement to obtain a warrant for a blood specimen to verify his intoxication level. Further investigation at the scene revealed Alvarez in possession of a loaded firearm, compounding his charges.

"Christopher Alvarez was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Unlawful Carrying of a weapon. His total bond was set at $100.00 out of County Court 1," announced Constable Mark Herman.

Alvarez now faces serious charges associated with drinking and driving, and the additional danger posed by carrying an illegal weapon. More details on the case are expected to follow as the legal proceedings unfold.
