According to authorities, Salvador Maruri couldn't keep his car — or his act — straight as he navigated the 8220 block of Willow Place Drive. Constable Mark Herman's deputies put an end to Maruri's dangerous drive with a swift traffic stop.
Not new to the rodeo of roadside testing, Maruri tripped through the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, all but waving a red flag to his intoxication. As per the statement from Constable Herman's Office on Facebook, the deputies' suspicions were right on the money. After revealing a blood alcohol content that blew past the legal limit like it was standing still, arresting officers charged him with Driving While Intoxicated. Peeking into his past, they found two prior convictions for the same reckless behavior.
Herman's deputies, they reported his blood alcohol content was a staggering 0.161—a level twice that of what Texas law permits. Driving while so thoroughly inebriated, it's not just an act of negligence, but a brazen disregard for the safety of all who share the road.
"Salvador Maruri was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Driving While Intoxicated," stated Constable Mark Herman of the incident. His bond is hanging in the balance, not set at the time of the report, but soon to be decided by the 183rd District Court.
