
A man's life was cut short in a parking lot shooting incident in January, and now, after weeks of investigation, the Houston Police Department has nabbed the alleged shooter. The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Steven Pearson, has been charged with the murder that took place at 5400 Heatherbrook Drive on the night of January 12, according to an announcement by the Houston Police Department.
The victim, 33-year-old Jonathan Lemons, was found gravely wounded, having been shot multiple times, it was a call to 911 that brought the officers rushing to the scene where they discovered Lemons, unresponsive in the parking lot, first responders from the Houston Fire Department quickly transported him to Ben Taub General Hospital where his life slipped away as he was pronounced dead. Persistence in the face of the unknown reaped results when further probing into the shooting eventually pointed to Pearson as the perpetrator. On February 22, the suspect was arrested by the employing precision and without causing a stir, the HPD SWAT team detained Pearson, who is now facing the consequences of his alleged actions, his mugshot circulates alongside the details of the incident.
Pearson is currently being held accountable for his alleged role in Lemons's untimely demise, with a formal charge of murder levied against him in the 262nd State District Court, details of his arrest have been made public, earnest in their efforts to bring closure to a case that left a community rattled, investigators continue to piece together the motive and sequence of events that led up to that fateful January evening.
