Operation Homefront, in collaboration with JPMorgan Chase, has handed over a mortgage-free home to Colette McLeary, a Houston veteran who's served twelve years in the Marine Corps and four years in the Army, this foundation of stability marks a new chapter in her civilian life, offering respite from a transient past marred by frequent moves and rental hikes, the Houston Chronicle reported.

McLeary expressed a profound connection to her new West Houston abode, resonating with the detailed craftsmanship and securing a space for her grandson's weekend visits, and while the house will be officially hers after two to three years following a structured program involving financial counseling and regular monitoring from Operation Homefront, the joy she found in planting roots seems immediate "This home is beautiful," McLeary told the Houston Chronicle. "They really thought of everything. Walking through the home for the first time, I felt like a kid again."

In a similar gesture of gratitude and support, PulteGroup’s Built to Honor program awarded its 80th mortgage-free dwelling to Staff Sergeant Jonathan Olds, an Air Force veteran, and recipient of a Bronze Star, a Purple Heart with one Oak Leaf Cluster, among several commendations, marking another step in PulteGroup's decade-long effort to offer stable futures to those who've donned the uniform. “As we celebrate the 80th home of PulteGroup’s Built to Honor program, we are humbled by the lives that have been changed over the last 10 years. These homes represent a foundation on which veterans and their families can build the next stage of their lives, and it is inspiring to see what they have accomplished since becoming homeowners,” Ryan Marshall, President and CEO of PulteGroup pronounced during the ribbon-cutting ceremony, according to Houston Agent Magazine.

Olds was medically retired from the Air Force in January 2015, the Houston Agent Magazine interview reveals his decorations speak volumes of his service and sacrifice.
