Flames engulfed a two-story structure in Green Meadows yesterday, but swift action from the LAFD contained and quashed the incident in under 20 minutes. The abandoned commercial building, located at 11157 S Central Ave, was already boarded up from previous fire damage when the firefighting crew arrived at approximately 5:45 p.m.
Smoke was spotted billowing from the first floor, prompting a team of 32 firefighters to spring into action. "Firefighters made entry to locate a contents-only fire inside of the building, where they found that this was the site of a previous burn," according to an official statement on the LAFD website. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, with no injuries reported in the blaze.
It reportedly took just 17 minutes for the first responders to access, confine, and completely extinguish the flames
Local authorities have not yet released details about potential causes of the fire or any suspects involved. The investigation remains ongoing, and community members have been reassured that measures are in place to prevent further such occurrences in their neighborhood.
