The Los Angeles Police Department is turning to the public for assistance in the search for a woman reported missing in the Woodland Hills area on February 8. Asia Alvarado, 32, was last seen on the morning of that day around Oxnard Street and Farralone Avenue, and concerns for her safety are growing due to her reported poor mental condition.
Alvarado, a Black woman with black hair and brown eyes, is roughly 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighs about 135 pounds. She was sporting black clothing and burgundy shoes at the time of her disappearance. It's feared that she walked northbound on Topanga Boulevard from Oxnard Avenue, a region she's not acquainted with, according to the report.
Detectives from the LAPD's Topanga Division are leading the search efforts, emphasizing the urgency given Alvarado's unfamiliarity with the area. Authorities have released a description and are asking anyone who might have seen her or knows of her whereabouts to come forward with any information.
The LAPD has made a direct appeal, stating, "If you have seen or have any information regarding the whereabouts of Asia Alvarado, please contact the Los Angeles Police Department, Topanga Division." The department has made available multiple contact options for tipsters, including their main line at 818-756-4800, a 24/7 hotline, and the option for anonymous tips through the LA Regional Crime Stoppers.
In a further effort to reach as many people as possible, they have also recommended the public to utilize the "P3 Tips" mobile application. More information can be found here.
