In a determined effort to quell gang activity, Los Angeles Police Department officers descended upon an assembly of alleged gang members, seizing an arsenal of weapons in the process. According to the LAPD Newsroom, the intervention took place in front of 1300 E. 16th Street, where approximately 50 to 70 individuals were reportedly partaking in illegal activities.

The police action was prompted when gang enforcement officers observed the group consuming alcohol and using narcotics in public. During the operation, one suspect, caught trying to discard a firearm, was arrested without incident. Another was seen entering and quickly leaving a warehouse with a firearm, prompting officers to call in additional resources to manage the uncooperative crowd.

A skirmish line was established to contain the street and warehouse. While the subsequent search did not yield additional suspects, it led to the recovery of multiple firearms, both inside the warehouse and in nearby parked vehicles. In total, officers confiscated 17 firearms, including six untraceable "Ghost Guns."

Among those arrested were 33-year-old Takierra Davis, charged with 69 PC, and 35-year-old Kentrice Panton, and 36-year-old Travion Anderson, charged with 29800(a)(1) PC. The LAPD has encouraged anyone with more information to contact the Newton Detectives or to remain anonymous by reaching out to the LA Regional Crime Stoppers or through the "P3 Tips" mobile application.
