Gunshots rang out in the dead of night in Long Beach, with shooters on the loose after a no-hit drive-by on 14th Street, authorities say. In the early hours of Feb. 29, the Long Beach Police Department rushed to the scene around 12:31 a.m., where they discovered clues that a shooting had indeed taken place, according to the official police blotter.
The shrouded details of this crime reveal scant information, with suspect identities and a motive still shrouded in mystery; seemingly three individuals hopped out of their ride unfired multiple shots towards an unidentified man who, along with the trigger-pullers vanished into the night before the fuzz could make heads or tails of it. As bullets were spent and echoes died, there were after all no reported injuries in this shadow dance of violence. Authorities are now clawing for leads in this puzzling scenario.
The LBPD officials are painstakingly combing through the evidence, hoping to piece together the incident and bring those responsible to justice. They are in the throes of gathering information, calling upon the public to come forward with any inklings that may break wide open this investigation.
