
Firefighters in Wilmington successfully battled a blaze that erupted early this morning in a two-story garage with an upstairs residence, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported. The LAFD arrived swiftly at 822 N Lakme Ave at 04:38 AM and managed to control the situation in under an hour. according to the LAFD alert. The fire, which was concentrated on the upper floor and attic, was extinguished by 5:10 AM, thanks to the combined effort of 36 firefighters.
The LAFD's official statement highlighted the efficiency of the crew at the scene, saying, "First arriving 36 LAFD Firefighters took just 32 minutes to access, confine and extinguish heavy fire on the upper floor and attic of a (sic) detached two-story garage with residence on the second floor." Fortunately, there were no reports of injury resulting from the incident, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. The operation included multiple firefighting teams and equipment, including several engine and truck companies.
As residents awoke to the news of the fire, concerns about the safety of their neighborhood were palpable. Yet, the quick response of the fire department has been met with relief and appreciation.
