
Flames tore through a Panorama City townhome today before firefighters beat back the blaze, officials said. The Los Angeles Fire Department reported heavy fire in the attached garage of a two-story townhome, situated at 8800 N Kester Ave, as firefighters mounted an offensive attack to quell the inferno. The fire threatened to spread to an adjacent townhome, sparks of menace in a tightly packed community.
Fire Station 7, along with battalions from across the Valley Bureau, responded to incident #0834, which broke out shortly before 12:42 PM. The crews, numbering 39 in fire caps, succeeded in their battle against the blaze, fully extinguishing it in a swift 15 minutes that saw the fire contained, and prevented it from leaping into the living area or damaging a neighboring residence. The LAFD alert detailed the coordination and efficiency of the response teams, a ballet of bravery on a stage of potential destruction.
No injuries were reported in the incident, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. The LAFD's commitment to the safety and preservation of both life and property stood evident as firefighters ensured none were harmed and structural damage was minimized. Under the direction of Battalion Chiefs, the teams demonstrated seamless operation, with units including E239, E275, E290, E7, E81, E90, RA7, RA75, SO1, T39, T75, and T90 mentioned in the knockdown report.
