
A man was killed in a hit-and-run incident in Los Angeles, and local authorities are now scouring the city for the driver who left him for dead. The Los Angeles Police Department West Traffic Division disclosed that the fatal collision occurred on February 13, around 11:00 p.m., on Beloit Avenue near Missouri Avenue, as reported on the LAPD Newsroom.
The unidentified victim was walking northbound on Beloit Avenue when struck by a dark-colored vehicle, which instead of rendering aid, made a U-turn and fled the scene. Witnesses describe the vehicle as continuing before negotiating a turn to escape southbound down the same avenue, rather than stopping as legally required.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department swiftly responded, rushing the injured man to a nearby hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Officials have withheld the victim's identity pending notification of his family.
The LAPD is actively seeking information and calling out to the community for assistance.
