In a significant move for the automotive industry, British car manufacturer Ineos has announced that it will be using Georgia's Port of Brunswick as the primary entry point for distributing its new Grenadier SUV across the U.S., according to FOX 5 Atlanta. The luxury off-roader is set to roll out at more than a dozen dealers in the Southeast, making cities like Atlanta a key hub for the SUV's sales network.

The Grenadier is the first vehicle to come out of a global chemical giant INEOS, a company that also deals in consumer brands and is known for its British fashion label Belstaff; now it has delved into the automobile manufacturing scene with what they describe as a vehicle made for the passionate off-roading enthusiast as reported by The American Journal of Transportation. The Port of Brunswick was praised for its strategic placement and connectivity benefits which are expected to streamline the distribution of the vehicles to major cities throughout the region.

Gabriel Pernia, planning and logistics director at INEOS Automotive Americas, told The American Journal of Transportation, "We have selected the Port of Brunswick as our strategic gateway to the East Coast to cover customer volume along the major cities across the region." He emphasized the importance of the port's extensive capacity for vehicle storage, processing, and maritime cargo, which is integral to improving customer order deliveries.

The Grenadier SUVs, which are assembled in France and shipped from Belgium, are part of INEOS's broader distribution strategy with plans to enter markets in Canada and Mexico by the middle of 2024. The Georgia Ports Authority is supporting this approach with a significant investment of $260 million in Brunswick's Colonel’s Island, developing additional processing space and storage to aid the rapidly growing Roll-on/Roll-off cargo volumes an affirmation of the second busiest hub in the nation's commitment to being a leading gateway for U.S. supply chain said Griff Lynch, president, and CEO of the Georgia Ports Authority according to FOX 5 Atlanta.
