A Mount Clemens man has been charged with possessing child pornography, authorities confirmed. Micah Carson, 30, was apprehended by detectives from the Macomb Area Computer Enforcement (MACE) and the Sheriff’s Enforcement Team (SET) this past week. According to FOX 2 Detroit, Carson allegedly downloaded and had numerous files of Child Sexually Abuse Materials (CSAM).
Information provided by the Michigan Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, in collaboration with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, tipped off the investigators about the possible illicit activity. These reports led to the discovery and seizure of various digital devices at Carson's residence, including phones, a laptop, a computer tower, thumb drives, and SD cards as ClickOnDetroit described. His electronic storage is currently under forensic review.
Carson was arraigned in the 41-B District Court on Wednesday, facing three counts of child sexually abusive material – aggravated, and three counts of using a computer to commit a crime.
