
A multi-vehicle pileup wreaked havoc on Grayson Highway in Lawrenceville, causing a shutdown of the thoroughfare in both directions for several hours on Saturday evening. The crash, occurred near Davis Road and Simonton Road SW just before the clock struck 6 p.m.
Affected was the stretch from Gwinnett Drive to Simonton Road, reported FOX 5.
As of now, it's unclear if there were any injuries, but 11Alive indicates that there were injuries, though the extent of which, the authorities have yet to confirm.
Motorists found themselves rerouted as officials urged the public to seek alternate avenues around the crash site. The tangled incident, with an unknown number of vehicles involved, remained a subject of investigation to piece together how the wreck unfolded.
While the Lawrenceville Police investigated the location trying to pry the story from the wreckage, drivers were given the green light to return to the highway after it reopened post-10 p.m. The cause of the wreck remains unknown, conveyed FOX 5.
