In a bizarre and tragic incident, a naked man has been charged with the first-degree murder of an Army veteran at a South Austin motel, Texas authorities reported. The Austin Police Department apprehended 41-year-old Rahsaan Dobbins after responding to a shooting at the Super 8 Motel shortly after midnight.

Upon arriving at a chaotic scene, officers reportedly heard gunshots and encountered Dobbins nude and armed. "When police arrived on the scene, they said they heard gunshots."  After police commanded Dobbins to drop a weapon, which he complied, he was taken into custody. The victim, identified as 45-year-old Warnero Young, succumbed to his injuries despite first aid efforts by officers at the scene, as reported by KVUE.

A further investigation by the police suggested that Dobbins was experiencing paranoia at the time of the incident. "According to the initial investigation, police said Dobbins was in a state of paranoia when the shooting occurred", as stated by KVUE.

The loss of Young has deeply affected those who knew him. Stephanie Carrillo, a friend of the deceased, told FOX 7 Austin that he was at the motel to help a friend move. In the wake of the tragedy, a GoFundMe page was set up to assist Young's family with funeral costs, raising over $6,000 as of Tuesday morning.

Rahsaan Dobbins remains in custody at the Travis County Jail, with a bond set at $750,000. The case continues to unfold as authorities piece together the events that led to this senseless act of violence.
