
Scare in the Desert: Yucca Valley residents were rattled Sunday night when a barrage of gunfire echoed through their neighborhood. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department confirmed that multiple reports of the shooting were made around 9:56 p.m. near the 57000 block of El Dorado Drive, as stated in SBSD - Morongo Basin Sheriff's Department.
Deputies arriving on scene found numerous spent shell casings littering the roadway but, thankfully no injuries were reported. The shots, believed to be from a drive-by shooting incident, prompted an investigation, during which welfare checks were conducted for residents. Despite the evidence of gunfire, which included shots fired at an inhabited dwelling, authorities did not locate any victims or suspects, according to the SBSD - Morongo Basin Sheriff's Department.
The Morongo Basin Station's Detective Bureau has taken the reins of the investigation, as the search for the shooters continues. The sheriff's department is calling for anyone with information to come forward and has provided contact details for the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station, as well as the We-Tip Hotline for anonymous tips.
