
A morning accident in northeast Travis County sent one person to the hospital, authorities say. The incident, which occurred on the 17800 block of FM 973, prompted a response from Travis County Emergency Services Districts 2 and 12, as well as the Pflugerville Fire Department.
According to a social media update by the Pflugerville Fire Department, the crash took place near the intersection with Brita Olson. Crews arrived on the scene to find a person needing vehicle rescue, a situation that often involves individuals being pinned inside their cars, necessitating extrication by specialized tools.
Emergency services were dispatched to the site early in the morning, with the fire department's post appearing at 7:18 a.m. Once there, the teams worked meticulously, tending to the injured and spearheading the cleanup of scattered debris and hazardous fuels spilled across the pavement.
The nature of the injuries sustained by the individual was not immediately disclosed. However, the victim was swiftly taken to an area hospital, CBS Austin reports. The accident's cause is currently under investigation, and officials urge drivers to avoid the area to facilitate efficient site remediation and inquiry.
