
A grim discovery was made in southwest Houston yesterday night when a woman stumbled upon the body of a young man, fatally shot multiple times, just outside of her home. The Houston Police Department has confirmed they are actively investigating the incident, which occurred on Brookmeade Drive near Bathhurst Drive.
The body was found by a resident who had stepped out around 11 p.m. taking to out her garbage, according to Click2Houston. She called 911 after discovering the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. Police estimate the victim to be between 18 and 19 years old.
Detectives reviewed nearby surveillance footage which failed to capture the shooting itself, but the sound of gunfire was recorded, pinning the time of the shooting to approximately 9:54 p.m. Authorities have yet to identify the victim, as the Harris County Medical Examiner's office continues their work on the case. The investigators indicated that the young man did not live in the neighborhood where his body was found.
No suspect or motive has been determined in connection to this killing. The HPD Homicide Division is seeking information from the public to help to find the persons responsible for this crime.
