Pinion Hills turned into the scene of a major bust when San Bernardino County deputies hauled in 42-year-old Jason A. Waters on charges of possessing a cache of weapons, ammo, and suspected methamphetamine. Last Thursday's raid unearthed a trove of illegal items including a stolen vehicle and an arsenal of firearms from Waters' property on the 9200 block of Avalon Road.
Armed with a felony warrant, deputies from Victorville Police Station's Multiple Enforcement Team teamed up with the Sheriff's Specialized Enforcement Division, SanCATT, and the Victor Valley Sheriff's Station to swiftly apprehend Waters. A white Ford F-250 truck became the site of detainment, where police found loaded high-capacity magazines along with methamphetamine according to the Sheriff's Department.
A further search of his residence led to the discovery of an astonishing 28 firearms, which ranged from rifles and shotguns to handguns and revolvers. Moreover, about 2,000 rounds of ammunition were seized, and the icing on the cake was a stolen off-highway vehicle parked on his property. All of the confiscated items leave no room for doubt that Waters was severely violating the conditions of his previous felony conviction. He was booked at the High Desert Detention Center for possession of a stolen vehicle and for being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition.
The authorities are seeking further leads and have reached out to the community for assistance. Individuals with information can contact the Victorville Police Station directly or may choose to remain anonymous by using the We-Tip hotline. The case numbered 172402228, is under the supervision of Deputy A. Quezada. As investigators continue to piece together this puzzle, the Sheriff's Department's capture of Waters stands as a stark reminder of the ongoing battle against illegal firearms and drug possession.
