As summer temperatures rise, so does employment at Schlitterbahn Water Parks. Schlitterbahn Galveston is on a hiring spree, looking to recruit over 1,000 workers for the upcoming season, as reported by Houston Chronicle. Among the roles advertised are Emergency Services Technician Seasonal Associate, Park Maintenance Technician, and Food and Beverage Staffing Intern. A hiring event is slated to commence this Saturday, with continued efforts throughout the following weekend.

In the sibling water park in New Braunfels efforts are doubling down, with Schlitterbahn looking to hire approximately 2,000 seasonal workers. According to the San Antonio Express-News, additions include lifeguards, food service members, and security personnel. They're also set to open a new attraction targeting the younger crowds.

Coming to Schlitterbahn New Braunfels this summer is Schatze’s Storybrook Park, a water play zone designed for children 12 and under. The park, named after the company's dachshund mascot, will feature water slides and play areas, including the "Bow Wow Blaster," a child-friendly take on the park's popular "Master Blaster" slide. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation revealed the project's cost to be around $2 million.

With an opening day scheduled for April 20, Schlitterbahn Galveston will initially welcome visitors on weekends before ramping up to daily operations by Memorial Day. Single-day tickets are going for $39.99 with season passes priced at $99. As for the New Braunfels location, construction of their new kids’ section is expected to wrap up by early April, gearing up to splash into summer fun. Rick Belhumeur, the General Manager of Schlitterbahn Galveston, highlighted the perks of working at the park in a statement obtained by the Houston Chronicle, saying, "Working at Schlitterbahn is fun and comes with great rewards along with an opportunity for professional growth and leadership development."

Both Schlitterbahn locations are under the umbrella of Cedar Fair Entertainment, which acquired the New Braunfels and Galveston parks in 2019 for $261 million. The Ohio-based parent company announced ambitions to hire an aggregate of 35,000 seasonal workers across its entertainment properties this year.
