Boston's beloved TD Garden has a new bag policy. The Garden now strongly discourages visitors from bringing any bags exceeding the diminutive dimensions of 6 inches by 4 inches by 1.5 inches, a move they say is in tandem with their latest security revamp.

Patrons heading to catch a game or show might have to double-check their purse size or leave their packs at home unless they're toting diaper bags or those for medical necessities, which remain above the fray. Pro shop purchases also get a pass, but they're subject to a search, as CBS Boston reported.

The policy, executed ahead of Saturday's Bruins game, sparked confusion and frustration among fans. Many were blindsided by this update, leading to "a MASSIVE issue," as Ty Anderson, a Bruins writer for 98.5 The Sports Hub, aired on social media. Noting the turmoil, Anderson said, "Lotta angry people being told they could check their bag for an extra $15," during the policy's troublesome debut, according to the Boston Herald.

Despite the new "EvolvTechnology" security system boasting a more efficient entry process, some fans missed the memo and found out the hard way at the Bruins game against Los Angeles. The Garden's announcement of the policy surfaced on their website last Tuesday, but the wider notification via social media came a less-than-helpful day after, on Sunday.
