A teen has been arrested in connection to a shooting at McEachern High School in Cobb County, with police still on the hunt for a second suspect, officials said. The incident, which erupted Thursday afternoon in the school parking lot, left two injured and prompted a "code red" lockdown.

According to Atlanta News First, 17-year-old Scott Foor from Powder Springs was nabbed by Cobb County police and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a firearm on school property. Foor was apprehended without incident in Union City, the report confirmed, while the second shooter remains unidentified and at large.

The two victims, hit amidst what was described as an "altercation" in the parking area, suffered non-life-threatening injuries; one of the wounded is a student from another school, with the other being a 21-year-old who is not currently enrolled in education. Both are recovering in the hospital.

"My son told me. He texted said, 'Dad, there's been a school shooting.' So, I immediately texted back, and he said he was fine," John Hill, parent of a McEachern student, told FOX 5. The shooting has raised concerns among parents and the community about security on the ostensibly open campus located in Powder Springs.

In light of the arrest and the continuing investigation, McEachern High School proceeded with classes on a normal schedule Friday, bolstered by an increased presence of police and counseling staff to support students and faculty alike. "The people, tools, and training which keep our students safe, worked," the Cobb County School District stated in the wake of the incident.

Authorities are calling for anyone with information related to the shooting or the second gunman to step forward and assist police efforts. They ask possible witnesses to contact the Cobb County Police Department Major Crimes Unit at 770-499-4111.
