Heads up, Mankato residents – you might need to tweak your commute for the next couple of days. A stretch of Eastwood Drive near the 122 block is shutting down for some much-needed sewer service repair work, starting bright and early at 8 a.m. Wednesday, February 21. According to a Facebook post by the City of Mankato, the closure is a temporary fix to prevent bigger headaches down the road.
While the repair team digs in, traffic will be directed to take alternative routes until the road is expected to reopen on Friday, February 23. If skies stay clear, crews should get things buttoned up within the two-day window.
Local authorities are urging drivers to look out for signs and maybe even leave a little earlier to avoid the hassle of detours. It's not just about steering clear of construction zones, it's also about keeping everyone safe – workers and commuters alike.
So, while the inconvenience might cause a mild stir in the daily hustle, it's all in the name of maintenance. And while the community braces for this short-term disruption, it's a small price to pay for keeping the town's infrastructure in check.
