Thugs from the mean streets of Thousand Oaks are now facing hard time for a gang-related fight that put three of their peers in the hospital. Per the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, three male juvenile suspects, embroiled in a brutal skirmish that saw three victims with damaging stab wounds, were collared on February 27th, sparking hope that such harrowing scenes might see a decline.
It was a night of chaos last November when the Sheriff's dispatch was overwhelmed with frantic calls, as the clash at an apartment complex lit the 800 block of Saint Charles Drive into a vortex of violence and fear; deputies raced to the scene, finding the wounded and hearing eyewitness accounts of a gang of youths making a break for it before the law rolled in.
In a statement released on February 28th, as detailed on the Nixle platform, Sergeant Dillan Alvarez laid down the narrative: After an exhaustive investigation, evidence pointed the finger at three local teens who now wait behind bars at Ventura County Juvenile Justice Center, their day in court looming.
The vigilant Thousand Oaks Special Enforcement Unit, a seven-detective team, decided to take the gloves off, throwing everything at solving the crime and behind this latest collar, proving that gang rampages like these will be met with an unforgiving force; they, alongside the Thousand Oaks Investigations Bureau and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Services Bureau, pieced the puzzle together leading to these arrests.
"We value and appreciate our community partnerships and are more effective with your support," the Thousand Oaks Police Department declared, urging citizens to keep the streets safe by dialing up dispatch at the sight of trouble—because it's only together that this tide of street violence can be stemmed.
With rewards of up to $1,000 on the table for tips leading to a collar and charge, Ventura County Crime Stoppers is calling on the public to play their part while promising anonymity to those who do—because nobody should have to live in fear on their block. Anyone with the keys to more gang-related dirt is encouraged to dial 800-222-TIPS (8477) and potentially pocket some green while cleaning up the neighborhood.
