Chaos broke out in a quiet Harris County neighborhood when two 13-year-old boys went on a joyride that ended with them crashing a stolen car. The incident, which occurred earlier this month, saw the teens allegedly forcing their way into other vehicles before being apprehended by local law enforcement.
According to authorities, deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office were dispatched to the 1100 block of Imperial Bend Drive in response to the vehicle theft. The vehicle, after laying waste to it, was discovered by the deputies crashed not far from where it was taken.
The suspects, identified as juvenile males, attempted to flee but were swiftly located and arrested. Constable Mark Herman's office was quick to announce the apprehension, stating, "Both juvenile suspects were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Criminal Trespass," with the assurance that additional charges were pending due to the juveniles' alleged break-ins into other vehicles in the area.
Community members expressed concern over the rising juvenile delinquency in their area. Residents, speaking on the condition of anonymity, lamented over youths engaging in such criminal activities. Additional charges are expected to be filed against the pair for their alleged crime spree, reported by the Constable Mark Herman's office.
