A tragic scene unfolded on the Southwest Side of San Antonio where a reported murder-suicide has left two people dead, and two young children were found locked in a room unharmed, according to the San Antonio Police Department. The violent incident took place yesterday afternoon at an apartment complex located on the 10100 block of State Highway 16, just south of Southwest Loop 410, where officers discovered the bodies of a man and a woman.
San Antonio Police Department Chief William McManus conveyed the grisly details to the public, noting that the police were alerted to the situation when a woman called 911 saying, “I’ve been shot.” During the call, the dispatcher reportedly heard multiple shots fired, as reported by KSAT. When law enforcement arrived at the complex, they found a man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and ruled the shooting a murder-suicide.
Details surrounding the identities and relationship between the deceased remain unknown, with Chief McManus not providing immediate clarification. However, amidst the turmoil, two children, a one-year-old and a two-year-old, were discovered in a locked room within the dwelling. The toddlers were fortunately unharmed physically in the harrowing ordeal.
