After passing away peacefully at his home in Savannah, Que's spirit lives on in 2,023 limited edition bobbleheads, commemorating his final year cheering on the Bulldogs before his retirement, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.
The collectible, which is currently sold out but available for pre-order for the next run in May, features Uga X atop a University of Georgia logo base, his signature tongue sticking out, sporting a custom-made jersey resembling the one he wore during his time as the mascot this tribute not only marks the mascot's contributions but also embodies the affection felt by fans across the state, Que led the Dawgs to an impressive 91-18 record, highlighted by two SEC titles and back-to-back College Football Playoff national championship wins, and now the bobblehead craze has given him a new lease on life.
Phil Sklar, co-founder and CEO of the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, has made it clear that bobbleheads are not just toys, but tributes, saying, "Bobbleheads are the ultimate way to honor and celebrate a person or mascot, and we think this bobblehead of Uga X is the perfect tribute to his amazing life," as FOX 5 Atlanta reported. The bobblehead not only immortalizes the mascot but also serves as a tangible piece of shared history for the community.
A legacy brought forward by the Frank W. “Sonny” Seiler family in Savannah, every official bulldog mascot of UGA has been a pure white English bulldog, and Que was no exception, succeeding his grandfather on November 21, 2015, the story continues as these bobbleheads are now a must-have for those wishing to memorialize Uga X's tenure, it's available for $30 at select Athens stores and the Bobblehead Hall’s online store, which bears both the Uga X and Que name, along with his iconic lolling tongue on his trademark jersey, according to WSAV, "Uga X is loved throughout the state of Georgia and well beyond by Bulldogs fans, alumni, students, faculty, staff, and community members who had the privilege of watching and interacting with the beloved bulldog for many years!" as WSAV reported.
