Warren police hit the jackpot in a drug bust last Thursday, confiscating a massive haul of narcotics worth an estimated half a million dollars on the streets. The search warrant execution led to the seizure of over one kilogram of cocaine, two kilograms of heroin, and more than a half kilogram of fentanyl — a quantity potent enough to kill hundreds of thousands of people, according to the Drug Enforcement Agency, as reported by FOX 2 Detroit.
In the sweep, police also uncovered synthetic narcotics, a firearm, and a substantial amount of cash. Three individuals, identified as Marco Houston, 44, Melody Jewell, 48, and Jada Pickett, 22, were arrested at the Warren residence where this illicit pharmacy operated. The suspects have been charged, with bonds ranging from $35,000 to $1.1 million. A statement by the Warren Police Department given to CBS News outlined the severity of Houston's charges, which include delivery and manufacture of over 1,000 grams each of cocaine and heroin, possession of ammunition and a firearm by a felon, and maintaining a drug house, among others. Jewell faces similar drug-related charges and child abuse, while Picket also faces charges for the manufacture of a schedule three narcotic.
Investigators from the Warren Police Department's Special Investigation Division had been tracking the trio's activities since late 2023, culminating in the bust that revealed drugs were being distributed throughout the Tri-County area. Houston's criminal history is extensive, in contrast to Jewell and Pickett, who reportedly have clean slates prior to this incident.
