Calling all bird enthusiasts and nature lovers! The Washington County Parks are set to continue their popular series of guided bird hikes. The next event is winging its way to the picturesque Pine Point Regional Park on Saturday, Feb. 10, ready to kick off at 9 a.m. sharp.
The early bird catches the worm, and participants are advised to gather at the trailhead where they'll embark on a one-and-a-half-hour trek. For those looking to stretch their ornithological legs, the hike promises an opportunity to both identify the local feathered residents and contribute to crucial citizen science data collection. This winged data will help the county’s natural resources team, as highlighted in an announcement on the county's website.
Trail conditions may traverse the gamut from turf to gravel to paved paths, and attendees are encouraged to come prepared with binoculars and appropriate attire to suit the weather-related whims. The hikes aren't just a breath of fresh air—they're also free of charge with the standard park vehicle permit on your windshield. This could either be a $7 daily pass or a more year-long commitment of $30. And best of all? The event is inclusive and open to all ages and abilities with ADA accommodations available upon request.
All interested parties should note that minors need to be accompanied by a responsible adult. For anyone needing more information or to request ADA accommodations, Washington County Parks can be reached via call at 651-430-8370 or by sending an electronic pigeon— email—to [email protected].
